Can I learn to think like a thin person blog on facebook

Let's connect on facebook!

I've created a facebook page for my blog. I'm not entirely sure how I'm going to use this page, but I thought it would be a great place to chat, share thoughts, ask questions etc. I'll microblog about specific food choices and eating behaviours.

Please search for "Can I learn to think like a thin person blog" and "like" this page. Help me get a username; I need 25 likes!

  1. Hi, I will def take some time catching up on your blog, thanks for stopping by mine. Was it Cognitive Behavior therapy or what? Interesting. I'm an MSW, I should therapy my own fat butt into skinnyville, haha. Social worker / dry humor extraordinaire at your service.....

  2. Hi Miss April,

Thanks for coming here too! I feel like an entirely different person with respect to food after CBT. My obsession with food has decreased along with cravings.

I'm not spending most of my day thinking and freaking out about food and doing what I need to do to lose weight.

All of my overeating, binges and obsession with food is a result of years of restricting food and amount of foods from dieting.

I would recommend CBT to anyone who wants help to change their behaviour with respect to food. I still have a lot of work to do; I'll be loosing weight slowly, but I do feel that it will finally be for the last time!

  3. Thanks for the response. It sounds like you have a healthy mindset. That's part of my problem and has been for years, worrying about food all day long..... it seems to perpetuate the desire to overeat and eventually 'give up' on the actual weight loss process. Best wishes to you and kudos for going out and seeking the help you needed to head down the right path this time! That is awesome in every way!!!! :)

  4. My mindset is much better now. Not many experts talk about how important your thinking is when it comes to weight loss.

And you are right, the anxiety, the worry, the sense of missing out does perpetuate the desire to overeat. And when you think about it, once you start down that path, does anyone ever really stop dieting?

Also: I'm starting to get spam, so I've made the decision to moderate comments (unfortunately).
